Session 3: Hepato-biliary-pancreatic Cancers
Presented by Mr Adam Frampton
Mr Adam Frampton is a Consultant General and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgeon at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford, Surrey. He underwent basic and higher surgical training in London and Surrey and was awarded a PhD in 2014 from Imperial College London for his work on complex gene interactions in pancreatic cancer. Mr Frampton is extremely passionate about research and aims to translate new discoveries directly into improved patient care. He has won numerous awards for his research, including the Maynihan prize, the Sir James Fraser Travelling Fellowship and the Hunterian Professorship. He currently serves as the Vice Chancellor's Fellow and Senior Lecturer in Surgical Oncology at the University of Surrey. His current research includes investigating the molecular aspects of pancreatic, liver and biliary-tract cancers, including the development of clinically useful biomarkers and targeted anti-cancer treatments, as well as understanding the tumour immune microenvironment, microbiome and mechanisms of metastasis.
